What Katie did next, Steve Kuncewicz comments

An example of citizen journalism has the potential to land Katie Hopkins in jail if proceedings are issued following her recent sharing of footage of Tommy Robinson on twitter.

Steve Kuncewicz, BLM partner and expert in intellectual property, commented "The Contempt of Court Act 1981 imposes strict penalties for any sharing of content which may potentially pose a risk to the administration of justice in ogoing proceedings".

The issue lies in sharing footage filmed whilst proceedings are ongoing.

In summarising what can be learned from this example Steve Kuncewicz said: "The press are well aware of the operation of media law and contenpt in particular, but the public less so..." and went on to say "any content..creates a risk and potentially even more so if it's shared to a large following on social media".
