Private wealth head James Beresford personally ranked in Chambers HNW 2019

For the third year running, BLM’s private wealth specialist James Beresford has been ranked in the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide 2019. James and his team, part of the Commercial Advisory and Private Wealth group, specialise in dealing with the administration of estates and advising clients on estate planning matters including the drafting of wills and lasting powers of attorney.

Chambers High Net Worth (HNW) ranks the top lawyers and law firms for international private wealth. The guide also recommends leading accountancy firms, private banks, wealth managers, trust companies and other professional advisers to HNW and UHNW clients around the world.

During his tenure at BLM, James has received the accolade twice and has been recognised for his work advising HNW clients including television/radio personalities, sports people, family business owners and corporate CEOs on their inheritance tax planning, trusts and the use of family investment companies.

A passionate advocate of estate planning, James is an active member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is an elected ‘non-member council representative for England and Wales’ to help shape the future direction of the society.

In addition to providing legal services, James regularly lectures on wills and estate administration for the Solicitors Group and commentates in national press. He has recently featured in The Sunday Times and The Daily Mail discussing the challenges of ‘will apathy’.
