BLM's new head of employment law, London speaks to City AM

BLM's new head of employment law, London - Julian Cox speaks to City AM about the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. In this article he highlights the risk posed to businesses in the hospitality industry seeking to include tronc payments in their CJRS submissions commenting:

“The guidance provided by the government is clear that tips ought not to form the basis of applications for furlough as they form discretionary payments,”

“There is a real risk therefore that as things stand, if businesses do include such payments when making their submissions this may come under scrutiny by HM Revenue and Customs.”
