BLM partner Stephen Crook discusses commercial property issues during the pandemic with NW Business Insider
In a feature article - Room for agreement - in the June issue of North West Business Insider (NWBI) magazine, Stephen Crook, Commercial Property Partner at BLM discussed the options available to commercial tenants.
Stephen commented that "Some landlords are using aggressive tactics such as issuing winding-up petitions, which the government has now put a temporary ban on, or statutory demands to recover rents. Perhaps as a result, the government banned the use of statutory demands made between 1 March and 30 June, where a company cannot pay its bills due to Coronavirus. And has prevented landlords using Commercial Rent Arrears Recovery (CRAR) unless they are owed 90 days of unpaid rent."
