BLM celebrates talent with bumper promotion round
Leading insurance risk and commercial law specialist, BLM has marked the beginning of its new financial year with the promotion of 21 associates to partner. The promotions span six of the firm’s seven business streams with six promotions in Claims Solutions, five in Large Loss & Technical, three in Speciality & Financial Lines, three in Commercial Advisory & Private Wealth, one in Scotland and three in Ireland. The firm has also promoted 35 solicitors to associates across all seven business streams.
Matthew Harrington, BLM senior partner, commented: “I am proud that we have promoted so many colleagues this year. This is the second round of promotions in my term as senior partner and I’ve been blown away by the talent pool at our firm. Succession planning is key to our future and it’s important we give our people the opportunity to develop their careers. One of my priorities is to make sure we have strong teams in place to support all of our clients. Led by the client relationship partners, those teams will include more junior partners and associates who I know have a great deal of commercial acumen, new ideas and creativity to bring to the role.
“We have had a really positive start to 2019, securing work from new and existing clients and we are already building on some of the good news from last year. These newly promoted partners and associates are important to our continued success right across the firm, in all of our business streams.”
